My favorite blog:
My favorite electoral prediction site:
Conclusion: Barack Obama’s win percentage — about 96%
….asks the guy who wouldn’t make an AV bet because of $5.
But, in any case, you can get 5.5:1 odds for McCain if you follow the first link that I posted above.

I am nervous about one party having control of the Congress and White House at the same.
In this election, for instance, a 60 seat majority would eliminate the possibility of filibuster for the Republicans on the floor of the senate.
As a result we could see some really outlandish legislation passed with no possibility of dissent.
Does the Idea of one party having complete, filibuster proof control over the Senate, and the Whitehouse, bother you?

Or so my wife’s company’s CEO thinks. The company had a meeting yesterday with the CEO, and apparently it turned into a rant on how the democrats "screwed up" in regards to the economy.
He stated that McCain, Bush and other republicans had pushed legislation to avoid the financial crisis, but was denied by the democratic congress or some crap (I’m paraphrasing as I wasn’t there).
Now my wife, a Republican by default (her parents are reps, but she has very little interest in politics and hasn’t been following ANYTHING that’s been going on), is using it as ammo to prove to me that the republicans are right and the democrats are wrong.

I thought the title was fitting since the -0.3% yesterday was the lead narrowing. I figure the +0.4% today means he’s taking off.
You do know that these fluctuations are meaningless, especially since they’re within the margin of error, right?
Today … though McCain dropped further

Will the GOP’s campaign to deter new voters and discard Democratic ballots determine the next president?
These days, the old west rail hub of Las Vegas, New Mexico, is little more than a dusty economic dead zone amid a boneyard of bare mesas. In national elections, the town overwhelmingly votes Democratic: More than 80 percent of all residents are Hispanic, and one in four lives below the poverty line. On February 5th, the day of the Super Tuesday caucus, a school-bus driver named Paul Maez arrived at his local polling station to cast his ballot. To his surprise, Maez found that his name had vanished from the list of registered voters, thanks to a statewide effort to deter fraudulent voting. For Maez, the shock was especially acute: He is the supervisor of elections in Las Vegas.

With Dems having majority in the house, senate, and with the Messiah at the helm, this is what we have to look forward to. Unbelievable! Since social security has been such a "great success", I’m sure this will work out well.
and to think that these types of schemes are just the beginning. Obama, Pelosi and Reid are gunning for a legislative bonanza. It really scares me when people advocating these things use possessive nouns and phrasing that clearly indicate their belief that people don’t own their earnings, but that the government does as guardian of collective wealth. I do have to congratulate Obama on figuring out the perfect feedback loop:
He Promises People Other People’s Stuff —-> Then send him their welfare checks —-> He Promises People Other People’s Stuff what’s the problem here bro? Continue reading…
