…and fears Obama because he wants a $9.80 mimimum wage (I haven’t read or heard this, have you?).
His question to me was: Do you want the price of a pizza to go from $6 to $10? How will that run through other goods?
My response was:
Over the past 5 years, the other component costs of your business have risen with inflation (ingredients, utilities, rent, insurance, etc.). Only labour has remained low. It only make sense that labour costs will increase too, as gradual inflation is inherent in a growing economy.

His political past leads me to believe so,
If you don’t know what ressentiment is you could wikipedia it I suppose, or read Nietzsche’s On The Genealogy of Morals (at least Essay 1) to understand what I am talking about. But from what I’ve been reading on these forums it seems like most people here don’t enjoy reading much.
Although ressentiment has been the birth of the priestly class and then religion, it has of course infected all of humanity. Each and every one of us has some of it (and a constant battle between slave and master morality), however to let ressentiment win out to the extent Obama has is troubling. At least in his policies. Perhaps he is just manipulative and wants to reach power, however, his policies are what is going to be effecting us.

And about a third of Americans don’t know what socialism even is.
So why are McCain and Palin using it as their main closing argument against Obama, who actually isn’t even socialist???
i’ll welcome it, i have a good friend in sweden that doesn’t mind it
I would even wager that greater than 1/3 don’t know what socialism is.
Or rather don’t understand it anyway.

While McCain cancelled events due to rain, here’s what Barrack Obama was doing.
You’d think that being so far behind McCain and company would be giving their all, but Obama is the one that’s still pushing ahead. John McCain would melt in the rain, that’s why he’s gotta keep it indoors.
too much make up :-X Continue reading…

Source for all of those: DeLong
From NBER’s page:
A recession is a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real GDP, real income, employment, industrial production, and wholesale-retail sales. A recession begins just after the economy reaches a peak of activity and ends as the economy reaches its trough. Between trough and peak, the economy is in an expansion. Expansion is the normal state of the economy; most recessions are brief and they have been rare in recent decades. Continue reading…

but nooo, no one does.
It would solidify that mess. Hell I’d even vote Obama if he said he could and would get rid of it.

McCain wants to keep it where it currently is. Obama wants to increase it. This was actually part of their economic plans, you can look it up. Continue reading…

but WTF? What a scumbag.

I know Democrats are convinced that nobody cares about Bill Ayers.
But I’ve got to wonder what Teddy Kennedy would think of this friend of Obama, a guy who paid tribute to the murderer of Kennedy’s brother.

And in the movie, some folks at NBC were discussing why people listen to Howard Stern.
Of all the viewers, it was something like 50% liked him and 50% didn’t like him. For those that did like him, they reasoned it was because they wanted to see what he would say next. And ironically for those that didn’t like him, they listened to him because…. they wanted to see what he would say next.
For those that watched the movie, perhaps you can give a better summary of what I’m trying to say. Continue reading…
