A 35 year old is the best we can tap to run the bailout? WTF

October 23, 2008

I don’t care if he was a VP of a division at Goldman Sachs, was there really noone more qualified than him? Looks like typical cronyism of the Bush administration, Paulson picked him because he was his drinking buddy at Goldman.
you’re the one who wants this bullshit bailout so badly, what did you expect was going to happen moron?

…as if you could even pretend to be informed enough to have any credible opinion on complex economic issues.

The new job is his Golden Parachute. Get used to disapointment.

And, Karnajj- what did you expect to happen? You didn’t think this would get loaded up with BushCo cronies? C’mon. Guess what- the demos won’t even fight it. They’re in love with it, because it’s closer to absolute socialism, and with Obama and the Dems in power in Congress, there’s a hellstorm of your "change" coming in February 2009.

He does the job for the next month or so, or he doesn’t…..

Why am I supposed to be bothered by this …especially when Obama will probably be cleaning house pretty soon?

no my motto is "You want your news? Fair and Balanced? Then tune in to Fair and Balanced StarkTV for your weekly fair and balanced coverage of all fair and balanced news"

How did he get the job? I don’t know anything about him.

What are his qualifications for the job or lack there of? Past experience?

I’m not going to judge someone solely on their age.

has an MBA from Wharton. So for that, it means he graduated at the age of 27-28. Ran one of Goldman offices that invest in IT. Then got tapped by Paulson for some job at the treasury. And now he is in charge of 700 billion dollars

exactly what I was thinking.

Not necessarily or how does that matter? Saying lack of experience?

looks like he’s about to make a sacrifice to the gods … a $700 billion dollar sacrifice??
I think its important that the person upholds the beliefs that come with the position…..you don’t want terrell owens as your qb

ibmichealvick

it matters that he only started his job as an associate at 25. Lets say it takes an average 4 years to hit VP. So he started as VP at 29.

Paulson became the treasury secretary in 06. So that means this guy started with Paulson when he was 32. So that leaves him 3 years as VP at Goldman, 2.5 years as assistant to treasury secretary…do you think this is enough experience to manage that much money? I could see if he was a VP of some generic important division…but no, he was just a VP of an IT arm, not even in NYC office. The guy just doesn’t have the track record of long term returns. And for a crisis this big, I want Warren Buffet or someone of that caliber to handle it

damnit, I KNEW I recognized that face!!!
Bush Administration is nothing but crooks, liars, and conmen

THATS who it is, couldn’t put my finger on it

he is indian
@ Obama supporters pissed off at a guy for lack of experience

Obama …. 47 with 13+ years of useful experience & a relevant doctoral degree & elected to his position after public scrutiny.

Care to show how this guy has the same resume….?

And again, young age doesn’t prove anything or incapability. John D. Arnold proves that age means nothing. He was in charge of huge accounts when he was young. Now he founded his own hedge fund and is worth over a billion at age 33. To move up in high positions quickly you have to have something special. I mean, unless there is stuff proving he doesn’t know shit and ONLY got those jobs because of who he knew.

LOL, I couldn’t type it fast enough, ohhhhhhh the ironing

I’m still waiting to hear your explanation of how Obama would’ve beat Hillary in the primaries without the unprecedented outpouring of support from the "minority vote."

Or you can explain why that’s relevant to Obama being where he is just because he’s black.
oh that’s right, his race had nothing to do with getting all those people out who thought it was time for a black president.

Only time will tell if this guy is worth his salt. From what i hear he is a genius. Former aeronautical engineer, went back for his MBA.
he’s creepy as hell but i don’t think it requires a stodgy old man to fill any such position

yeah, give him a shot. if hes got the balls to want that job, why not?
i think it requires someone who has a keep sense of economics/finance with more than an MBA from wharton.. I don’t think we need an old fuck but someone with a solid asset management history/background would suffice.
