But america wants ‘Change’

September 06, 2008

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%;

But American’s wanted “CHANGE” ! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democrat Congress & yep - we got “CHANGE” all right!

2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure;
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low 11,300 -
Is that what all those nukkas on Peachtree Street want?

yes
thanks for all the colors. makes it so much easier to read.
as much as i dislike what bush has done as of late, i can’t stand what the democratic controlled congress has done. they have a lower approval rating than the president so obviously i’m not the only who feels this way. in fact, majority of americans feel this way.

neither do I
I care about black people as long as they have money.
This is the evil truth that Barack HUSSEIN OBAMA doesn’t want you to know

who does besides them
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);

You’re not serious are you?

It must have been -5% before

(pssst… the increase was 10%).
Yeah, we had all those “Good” things. However, they came because of the synthetically cheap money. In other words the market was growing and things looked great because the government was borrowning money from China and other nations and giving it away at a very small rate to banks which in turn gave it to all the retards. Thus the Government, including your beloved Bush have cause an unnatural price jump in real estate and other the markets. We are now paying for the “Good Times”.

And yes while Congress does control spending they have no say in presidentially appointed Federal Reserve.
quit lying. everybody loves me
American’s don’t want change… don’t be silly. American’s are psychotic. They want to keep voting in Republicans and expect different results each time

mccain is for small government, balanced budgets, and restoring your civil rights!

also he’d consider diplomacy before bombing.
As far as i remember the economy went down the hill after WTC attack, it then went down even more as Bush spend trillions on militairy measures, the economy started to crack as a result of America’s continued money mismanagment, there actually never was a money policy exept for spending it. Americans need to learn that no matter how big your country is, if you spends more then you earn you are bankrupt, America has spend trillions more then that it owns on Militairy measures, homeland security and militairy equipment. Americans need to wake up and see the bottom in the hole of their wallets, but they can’t because all the creditcard companies make you believe you can borrow till the end of time. LIES!, debt managment should be taught in elementary school to kids, not only the government but every person in the united states should be getting debt managment courses.

Americans can’t even eat healthy, let alone handle money. Why does nobody on school learn you how to deal with debts, handle with money, and learning to eat healthy? The reason is because we’ve been so brainwashed that we accept these ‘bad things’ as ‘normal’, while its not.

I mean we can scream Barack Obama all we want, but reality is that Bush is going to sadle Obama up with trillions of debt, it’ll need nothing less then the hand of God to restore the mess America currently is in, im giving Obama a lot of slack space in that regard, he’s going to need it, i guess its just wait and see on wether he does any better then Bush, but my expectations are that that will be the case tho.
FW: Fw: Fw: FW: THE TRUTH ABOUT THE ECONOMY PASS IT ON

i dont think americans do i mean they’re still going to vote in an established candidate. Wheres the change in that?

Without Brothers, I wouldn’t have a job.

It went from ~4.55% to 5%, a 10% increase.

no it was Fw: But American wants “CHANGE”!

get it right.
McCain supporters spreading more idiotic propaganda …. :shocked:

wow, that sounds exactly like what george bush said before he took office. and then again his son, george w. bush said the exact same crap in 2000!
The beauty of politics. One party can fuck over as many people as possible just for political gain. I wish the election would just end so congress would stop being worthless dicks and just get some shit done.

Pelosi is probably the most powerful politician guilty of this.

both parties would do it if given the chance though.

Wish they didnt, but they have.

Forget all those promises that they wont play that game, and that they will work together, and that they wont take off as many days, and that they will stick around until their work is done and and and…
Yea im surprised that its not made a bigger issue by the republicans. Id have to imagine democrats would be throwing a fit if it was the other way around.

Watermelon farmer, cop, or a KFC employee?

don’t bring logic into this thread!

ban for racism
You are so wrong. We spent our last dollars. There are no more to spend. Bush tried to scare the arabs and they are laughing. The oil prices will be their revenge. Less people died in Iraq under Sadam Hussein each year than under the bush. He is truly full of shit and I want my fucking freedoms back. I dont want to pay for your fears. He tried to bully his way into Iraq for his oil buddies. Their is no way to blame the democrats in congress. bush has not passed any of their non partisan bills. Veto on them all. Not saying I would have either cause we need reduction of law for the Land of the Free and Brave to evolve. Not more restriction. Sheeple people. By the way, do you like gambling? Dow is not based on any real tangible assets and that my friend is why it will always be a legalized gambling op. Yeah, yo yo 401k bush. While they have tax payer funded pensions. I’m glad the dems came in. They haven’t been able to spend a dime. No real republicans left. The consumer economy is over. We have shot our load! Are you sure you want mcsame to spend your social security to the age of 90? He was eligible at 65. Why dont we just loose it on bushs 401K yo yo ride? Yeah, he dont say that anymore does he? bushs war economy is not working. Enough dead yet? We already beat the fuck out of both countrys. Win the war mcsame says! We won in the first two months. Win the war liberal spending, law making bush bitch says! chinny shoots someone in the head and never spends a day in jail. Wouldn’t try that with your friends at home kids. Ever consider that chinny got mad about something that day and made a point with his shotgun? You usually can notice your friends forty feet away and not try and blast their heads off. Funny claiming the pres. cant spend money. Hes into the trillions gathering heroin in Afganistan, oil in Iraq, and cocaine in So. America. Yep, cowboys and indians on our dime. Texas boyhood dream. If he would have evolved our freedoms and didnt spend my retirement I might have been able to swallow it a little more. P.O.S. 26 billion for African aids! We sure like your expensive legacy bush. Our CDC says we need it here in the USA. The peter puffers are thinking their invincible now with treatment available. Poking ass like never before. Gotta love hairy man ass huh? Well you wont be able to look at it on line if the liberal republicans have their way wit teh net.

sure it is

its working for him and his constituents

its obvious that he’s not working for us

How is the “Democratically Controlled Congress” supposed to accomplish anything when:

- they have a 51% majority in the Senate
- a 55% majority in the house
- most measures require a 66% majority for approval
- they have a GOP president with veto power

Are you ignorant, or do you like to selectively look at information in order to distort it to match your ideals?

ok i see your point, but still what have they done in comparison to what they said that they were going to do or at least attempted? not saying that the republicans are much better because they’re not, but in all honesty congress hasn’t done a single thing and from what i recall, they are on vacation…

alternative fuel is not going to be an option for at least a decade. R&D has to be done before it can be mainstream.

Yea instead of push laws its best to just do nothing.

R&D HAS been under way for several years.

They can push all they want. That doesn’t stop the president from vetoing it if it passes or the republicans from stopping it from getting passed.

I really see no negatives if they pushed and pushed. Instead right now people are seeing how they are doing nothing and its doing nothing but hurt their image.

Because it would just waste time instead of trying to pass legislation they actually have a prayer of passing.

Isn’t that their job? Fight to pass legislation?

So instead of fighting to get shit passed they are just taking the heat for being inactive? Its hard to fight the case against you that you have no intentions of doing anything when you are doing nothing. If they were trying they would have a case that Bush would veto everything, but since they havent been its on the democrats hands.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not arguing that they haven’t been useless, but they’re putting their time towards legislation that is more likely to be passed than the major stuff where it will get filibustered, vetoed, etc.

No their job is to pass legislation. And they are. They just aren’t bothering with bills that they have no prayer of passing spending their time, instead, on things that can actually get passed and signed.

I just dont agree with the notion that they are handcuffed because of bush when they havent been pushing stuff to him. I think Bush would veto shit but I also feel that they have the intentions to make shit as bad as possible because any positive really doesnt help their party.

They will just wait till after the election, hope obama wins, then get all the benefits.

A lot of the reason I hope Mccain wins so they will actually have to work together so shit can be a little more central.

Their job is to “fight” or negotiate to get bills through. How many bills do you think just breeze through?

I agree with this statement. However if McCain wins, things will stay the way they have been for the past two years with no meaningful legislation being able to be passed. I don’t think we can really risk having McCain in the White house, although Obama isn’t exactly a significantly better choice. I view it in the same scope as the people who voted for bush in ‘04 Better to vote for the evil you know than the evil you don’t. Here its voting for the lesser of two evils.

at least 80%. Most bills are not very controversial and are easily passed. Tons of legislation goes through congress every year and I’d bet you can count on one hand the number of bills that actually get any play from the media at all.

The congress will have to start passing shit if they want to keep their jobs though.

I have nothing to back this up but I have always felt the country was better off when its was one party in the WH and one in the congress.

Every bill has a ton of compromise, changes and additions as it makes its way through Congress. A bill isn’t just written and passed like you seem to believe.

The majority of congress doesn’t even know what’s in the bills. They’re given a simple vote yes or vote no from their staff that reads the bills for them.

Are you honestly saying that out of 535 members, you think that 80% of all bills have no objections, compromises, rewrites of any kind? They just breeze through Congress?

No. I’m saying that 80% of bills aren’t some massive mudflinging festival of bullshit where every little thing is nitpicked with a fine tooth comb and comes down to a razor tight vote through. Very few bills are heavily debated on the floor.

Its actually 94% as of the roughly the beginning of this month.

94% (855 of 911) have been passed by Unanimous Consent, with no roll call vote or debate.

And that, everyone, is the definition of “do-nothing”.

I think both you and deadhead have a skewed view of how things are hammered out in Congress. The floor debate is where congress gets to stand up and grandstand, score political points and try and sway public opinion in their direction. The cooperation, compromises, objections, etc. happen while the bill is being written, vetted and adjusted. Bill love quickly through Congress when they have been vetted BEFORE they are introduced and have a cadre of supporters… because those supporters concerns have been addressed. Not because everyone just happens to agree to every aspect of a bill. That is ludicrous.

Thanks for finding the numbers! I knew it was high I just didn’t want to exaggerate and have someone calling me out because I said 90% and it was actually 86%.

They don’t agree. They just don’t give a flying fuck. Unless its a big bill that has a lot of media attention, they don’t give a fuck what happens. They’re told how they’re going to vote by their party leader in their house and then ask their staff and then they go for it. Do you think they actually give a fuck whats in most of these bills? They don’t. That’s one of the reasons so much bullshit gets through because they don’t write the bills, they don’t read them, and they don’t care whats in them.

Ok, well my experience has been quite a bit different than yours then. Each congress person has their areas of interest, they may not all pay attention to each bill. With that many members of congress there are quite a few people who are interested in each bill as it goes through. That doesn’t mean they agree with it, but they may want to tack on some crap that will help them out and it will provide votes for the overall bill.

My mother worked for a congressman back in the day, and assuming washington works the same way it did 3 decades ago, which i’m sure it is probably even less involved, they don’t read shit. I’m sure there are a few handful of senators and congressmen on each side that will read or at least have an interest in their job but they’re in the extreme minority.

You understand that there can only be a few congressmen interested in a specific area… but with 450 congressmen that covers a lot of areas… right? Shit isn’t just written on a napkin and everyone ignores it or votes for it.

Would you like a granola bar, my bohemian friend?
