i’d like to see John McCain in office, i voted dem in 04 but i feel that if someone with a level head and a pretty moderate, reasonable views on important topics to me.
Only person in our current government I’d vote for is Russ Feingold.

And he’s even pushing it.

What are the chances of Senator Barack Obama moving up?

Posted by bruni on March 02, 2009

I really like his views and i think he is a very very smart person, which we could really use in government right now. Being that he is a race other than white, and he is a dem, what do you guys think the chances of him moving up from senator of Illinoise are? He is pretty young too.

i think he has a good chance at this point, as long as he remains his own person, and isn’t corrupted by the party along the way. but so far he seems like he might go far. he’s certainly got few enemies at this point.

its a good thing Al Gore wasn’t made selected by the supreme court in 2000 as prez

He probably would have forced CAFE fuel efficiency standards on American automakers which would require automakers to make cars which the market demanded 6-months ago. Its a good thing that didn’t happen.
We also need to drill for oil. There are no other options.
We probably wouldn’t have unilaterally thrown the Geneva Conventions onto the ashheap of history, either.

gotta profit on the high oil prices, oh wait

Here’s some potentially good news: "Fed OKs credit card crackdown"

Posted by bruni on February 14, 2009

The regulations mark an end to double-cycle billing, which averages out the balance from two previous bills. That means that consumers who carry a balance will no longer get hit with retroactive interest on their previous month’s bill. And credit card companies will no longer be able to raise the interest rates on pre-existing credit card balances unless a payment is over 30 days late. Consumers will also be given a reasonable amount of time to make payments, and payments will be applied to higher-rate balances first, to reduce interest penalties and fees.
