Someone can endorse whomever they choose, and in doing so does not make one a turncoat.

In his judgement maybe he did believe McCain and by extension Palin were awful. But neither you nor I know for certain about that. We can only make guesses that his endorsement was in de facto a declaration that McCain/Palin were an awful choice.

He can expect criticism, but I don’t hold Cheney’s criticism as holding any weight or significance. Especially considering this latest slavo from him just seems like a lot of last minute sour grapes bloviating.

There wasn’t much fundamentally different between McCain and Obama. Palin was a turnoff to moderates everywhere, that and McCain stay the course shit in Iraq.

You’re right, McCain should have lied about Iraq as well. Probably would have made a lot more sense politically to say we’ll be out in a year and then quietly move the deadline later on.

I didn’t say that. But look at Obama’s policies. You simply cannot support them and claim to be any kind of conservative. It’s not about party. It’s about ideas and basic principles.

What Obama’s governing philosophy boils down to is, it’s the government’s job to run people’s lives and meddle in their decisions, for some supposed greater good. You cannot be a conservative and agree with this, in any way. It is anathema to conservatism and to what this country was founded on, i.e. liberty, and economic liberty in particular.

Time’s are a changin’. 65% of americans approve of Obama, and so if the Republicans want to start winning elections again they have to shift to the left.

Every 1st world nation has a liberal evolution, and america is no different.

He is personally popular for now, but if you look at the popularity of his policy proposals they are far lower.

The republicans were saying the same thing after Bush won and they had a majority everywhere.

All the dems had to do was wait until the repubs got stupid and took the blame when the economy went down. It doesn’t take long for the wheel to turn these days.
