No one cares about Ron Paul. VOTE RON PAUL FOR FAILURE!
these days it actually seems like VOTE ANYONE FOR FAILURE
oh fuck me
he is already talking about austrian school
half way in…and he is just ridiculing him, he isnt taking him to school intellectually at all. but ill watch the whole thing.
lol. this is just deja vu. last time he lectured bernake, he just mostly said he agreed with him..
Holy shit no wonder the guy didn’t have a chance. I made it 2 mins into the video until he bored me.
Fuck you dumbass faggots who don’t know how to EMBED youtube videos
Being right does not equal exciting.
stupid fuckin faggot
You’re the typical idiot American who decides his presidency on who can make fun of the other party better, while avoiding anything of relevance.

seriously…look at the guy sitting behind RP. he has some kind of orgasm through the whole vid
i agree with RP that houses were overpriced but now i think they’re underpriced i’m still watching. other than that blah blah the federal reserve is unconstitutional and awful
that is exactly what i got from it
nice work bernanke . said a lot of what i was thinking basically about the federal reserve act. cool vid i liked bernanke’s writings and stuff before he was fed chairman i haven’t fully decided how i feel about him as chairman but he seems okay.
that’s what i saw.
fuck the vp debates let’s have bernanke and rp debate i kid i kid
i think he got handed a platter of shit and he is doing as well or better than expected. I respect the guy quite a bit.
A friend of mine had lunch with him 3 weeks ago

that’d be WAY more interesting than ‘I’m a POW and she’s a WOMAN’ and "I’m BLACK and he’s WHITE"
|
that’s what i saw.

bernanke would just agree with him 75% of the time.
the austrian school isnt completely different from Milton Friedman.
and he has probably been the biggest influence on the FED in the recent years.
well other than keynes of course
|

exactly how i feel
yes…but these are two intellectuals talking to each other.
Presidential candidates are two quasi-intellectuals talking to retards.

baller, what’s your friend do?
you see mishkin’s comments the other day? pretty crazy, my money and banking econ class was written by mishkin, kinda sad i sold it back when the class was done but my macroeconomics book touched on a fair amount of that and also i was broke at the time and wanted the $35 .
Where does the authority come from?…I’m guessing the Federal Reserve Act?
|
yes…but these are two intellectuals talking to each other.

too bad retards make up like 90% of voters
wait til the end of the video . but yes, the federal reserve act.
shit like this annoys me, why do people think so many americans are so stupid? shit is starting to bug me as i get older.
Couldn’t get through it…

He works at the DC Fed
are you taking about equating this mess to the depression? or worse?
|

haha they are pretty stupid. at least in some regard…
Congress isn’t a sitcom. They sit and talk and talk.
don’t worry guys, mccain is gonna spend friday solving this
Mccain will be the Chuck Norris of this financial crisis…
maybe if he didnt garner the 9/11 conspiracy theorist hipply fucking losers he might have had a chance, he’s a loon just like his followers.
he’s doing his job as a senator. Obama continues to pander to the economically ignorant
|

i’d love a job at the fed, i’ve been thinkin about it recently. my college grades weren’t that good though and i have a math degree w/ an econ minor, don’t think i could get hired
well yeah he basically said this could turn into the depression but he thinks bernanke and the boys are doing a great job etc.
|

go for it. ya never know.
nice.
i mean by what standards? it’s ridiculous to call 90% of people not only stupid but retarded. no reasonable person could say that more than 50% of people are "stupid" but even that’s ridiculous to me.
you could if you want say that lots of people are ignorant, well in fact everyone is ignorant. i’ve ignorant of brain surgery, but there’s plenty of other shit i do know.
i dunno how to make my point, i’m just getting tired of people endlessly bashing other people.
ghost of Ray Charles.
Nah, Bush, Obama and McCain are getting together for a sweaty threeway love fest at the White House tomorrow. Once they activate their wonder twin powers all this shit will be over.
I expect it to start raining cash by about 3:00 tomorrow afternoon.

seriously…thru the whole thing it really tripped me out

I’d rather see them as president and vice president, than the numb skulls we have now.

nice. |
wonder how i apply heh.
i just interviewed for a job at chase in the loss mitigation section though, not really a great job, the pay is decent but not awesome, but it gets my foot in the door at a good company and is a start if nothing else. i thought the interview went well, i’d start in like … a couple weeks though and it’d be 9-6 M-F and i wouldn’t want to leave in less than probably … 4 months (i think it’d look ridiculous on my resume otherwise) plus i’d have no time to interview for other jobs which kinda sucks. hnoes:
you’re either an idiot, oblivious, or both if you don’t think his theory has SOME merit

heck yea man. well…that sucks that you cant look around. but oh well, we all gotta start somewhere. I meet with a recruiter next week for an analyst position. im not getting my hopes up though
haha. maybe.
Hell at this point I’d take the guy with the neurological disorder behind him. I bet that dude would trip the shit out of world leaders.
yeah this has analyst in the title which is nice but it’s not really as much analysis as i’d like but like i said i gotta start somewhere. wish i woulda got that operations analyst job i interviewed for at capital one but oh well .
i wish i had the luxury of a few months to look, but at the same time i don’t want to wait forever because i also feel like that’d look odd on my resume like "why did you graduate 5 months ago and still don’t have a job?"
but yeah the recruiter who called me made it pretty clear that for the first 90 days i pretty much couldn’t have any time off, kind of introductory period kinda deal and so… unless i can schedule interviews during off-time which seems unlikely, if i get this job i’ll have to keep it for a bit. i’m fine with it though, gotta start somewhere and i gotta start making some money too. it’s not as much as i want to make … but will it ever be? job market is rough right now too.
you got an econ degree? what type of analyst? or did you hire a recruiter like for basically any? wasn’t sure if the recruiter got you or you got them.
tourettes guy
undergrad in econ, and i have 5 classes left for an MBA. I hope i can get them all in this spring. This is just a campus recruiter for Mutual of Omaha.
ah nice. i think i could finish my undergrad in econ with another 4-6 classes (kind of a range i know but i’m not sure) but people don’t really seem to go back and get another bachelor’s so i guess i’d have to get a masters, plus i don’t really want to go to school right now anyway for a bit. MBA down the road though maybe, particularly if i work somewhere (like capital one ) that’ll pay for it.
what do you do now or did you go straight into mba after undergrad?
|
tourettes guy
|
If that guy was running for fucking president I alone would make sure he got in office. He is my hero.
i dont have much experience, only internships…so im gonna hafta start off around entry level.
i didnt intend on getting an MBA, i just kinda fell into it.
|

wish i could fall into the money i’d probably have to have to get an MBA . plus i’d want to do it somewhere good like (e.g. OSU) and right now i couldn’t get in
well everybody around the world claims we voted for a retard. I say we should prove them right this time around and vote in a real extra chromosome having special ed kid. It would rock to see the presidents limo be a short bus.
how the fuck does that idiot ron paul still have a job? Isnt he the guy who faked a presidential run to earn a bunch of money he instead used in his congressional run?
|

that’s one reason i don’t want to get an mba until i have some experience working.
find out from your buddy how to apply to the fed . i guess i could just check their website but i’d rather hear from someone who actually works there .
edit: PM me that if you do get a chance to do that plz kthx
exactly. If i knew that i was only going to get an MBA i would have gotten a job out of undergrad…then tried to get into a good school after a few years.
|

yea im not sure of the details around him getting hired.
but he was a Truman scholar…so he got all sorts of offers if he didnt want to start grad school right away.
so um…we’re printing money to cover the bailout? that can’t possibly go wrong
that’s closer to my plan
|

yeah, that’s what i figure. sounds like he’s kinda high up though, they employ TONS of people so i was thinking lower level, one of my profs said they hire lots from OSU but uh… my degree isn’t in econ either. all good if you don’t know // don’t want to ask on account of some guy on the internet you barely know and have just seen in some economics threads.
you seem to know lots about what’s going on.

haha he isnt that high up. Bernenke is known to come into the cafeteria there and sit down with the lower level guys. lol
OSU has a pretty good program. i dont doubt that they show your undergrad programs some preference.

better than i realized til i started taking more upper level econ classes. w/o question i should have doubled majored, but i thought when i started it would have meant i’d have to stay longer but i think i could have done it. oh well .
|
Under Clinton, the entire federal government put massive pressure on banks to grant more mortgages to the poor and minorities. Clinton’s secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Andrew Cuomo, investigated Fannie Mae for racial discrimination and proposed that 50 percent of Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s portfolio be made up of loans to low- to moderate-income borrowers by the year 2001. |
just read that in the column i’m reading, glad it’s starting to come out now from people who write stuff.
|
Threatening lawsuits, Clinton’s Federal Reserve demanded that banks treat welfare payments and unemployment benefits as valid income sources to qualify for a mortgage. That isn’t a joke — it’s a fact. |
|

but listen…it isnt the poor people who made up the majority of these mortgages.
it is homes $250-400 iirc. these people dont qualify for stuff like welfare

those prices make up the majority of the mortgages or the majority of the money on teh mortgages? either way, somewhat interesting (link?). but one of the main issues appears to be the poor valuation of the homes and easy credit so that people couldn’t get out of the homes once they realized they couldn’t pay (cuz they got into a stupid ass ARM or something) for as much as they owed. i mean obviously there’s really just a variety of issues at heart, but i don’t think it’s unfair to say that what i was quoting is/was one of them.
he hardly schooled him… the fed back in the depression days did JACKSHIT….too pussy to act. Basically didn’t do what they were suppose to do.
