(like him or not) Is referred to as just "Obama"?
It was always President Bush this, President Bush that, but more often than not, our current President is just called "Obama"
Sure there are instances where is his called "President Obama", but not all the time. He was referred to as Senator Obama almost all the time during the election.
Shouldn’t the President ALWAYS be referred to as "President"?
*this is by no means a hate thread or any of that other bull shit…it’s just to see if anybody else noticed what a few coworkers and I noticed.
Ever notice that Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullāh is simply just referred to as Muhammad?
Coincidence? I think not.
.
Um, does it matter? There’s no need to call people with unambiguous last names by their title. Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, etc. No one is mistaking the name Obama for anyone but President Obama.

Excellence in trolling, people, take notes.
bush lied
obama was not called president enough for TS
fail
by the way, what you’re referring to are short headlines and newstickers where the length of the text must be minimal
it happens on the news as well. Just watch headline news and listen.
Rarely will they say President Obama.
Now they do say it, don’t get me wrong, but more often than not, it’s just Obama
that never happened to Bush. tinfoil hat not secured properly?

I see what your saying, and I’m not saying it didn’t happen. It just seemed that President Bush was called just that, more than President Obama.

Why does it even matter? I mean seriously, tell us, what is the point of this thread? To see that people are saving text?
Obama is a easily recognizable name. Same with clinton.

True, but who cares? I the networks definitely said Pres. Bush all the time, but if they just said "bush" that could be derived differently by stupid people or people not paying much attention. Can’t really confuse obama.
.
They didn’t refer to Hilter as Der Fuhrer Hitler either.
Bill
Dubya or Bush
I thought everyone knew this…
obama isn’t a common name, therefore he can be called just that
if we had a james smith as a president then it would be different
I thought that too in the beginning but we just called President Bush "Bush"
I didn’t say it was, I’m just wondering what the point is.
There tend to be standards set up at the various news agencies on how to describe a president. Usually in news articles they will describe him first as ‘President,’ then subsequent mentions are ‘Mr.’ However, seeing as how the media have had Obama’s dick in their mouth for a few years now, being on a last-name basis with them is the least he could do.
I will give the same respect to Obama that the people did on his coronation towards Bush.
I suppose you never heard anyone call the previous president W
umm, what the problem, I’ve always called almost every president by their last cept.
Cept for the roosevelts who I call Teddy and FDR
There’s just no respect any more - you can blame Hillary and her get-Nixon-at-all-costs Watergate friends for that.

“I didn’t know he had invited me for a beer, but I will take that under advisement…I’m always good for a beer." Obama said. |
