He probably would have forced CAFE fuel efficiency standards on American automakers which would require automakers to make cars which the market demanded 6-months ago. Its a good thing that didn’t happen.
We also need to drill for oil. There are no other options.
We probably wouldn’t have unilaterally thrown the Geneva Conventions onto the ashheap of history, either.
gotta profit on the high oil prices, oh wait
Honda Clarity is the future, once again Honda leads domestic car makers.
we probably wouldnt be pissing away a trillion dollars in Iraq or heading into a serious recession either.
Why do you hate freedom?
just not my "thing" really
Actually you might be right; the billions we spent there could have been used domestically for edu. , build infrastructure and research new tech for energy. All creating jobs.
yeah thats a tough call
fuel efficient vehicles, not 8mpg hummers.
I am going to get flamed to shit for this, but go read Al Gore’s books, and even if you completely disagree about the cause of global warming, his thoughts and ideas on other things show that he is light years beyond GWB in terms of intelligence, exponentially more qualified to lead. Anyone who still believes Bush was the right man after the past 8 years is either delusional or lying to themselves, I really believe that.
Well, Obama is planning to do this anyways starting next year.
What was that rebuttal I kept hearing in 2006/2007/2008? Oh yeah: Gore would have done everything the exact same way Bush did…. only in a worse with higher taxes.

it looks exactly like the prius
go to a fucking dealership. They’re stocked with mpg turds they can’t sell, and shitbox aveos that came too late. Car manufacturers had 3-5 years to figure out the trend. There’s a reason I bought fuel efficient vehicles and not a suburban…I’m smarter than the big-3 apparently.

which all feature trading antics centered around involvement with the binLaden family and war with oil rich countries, lol. I don’t understand why gas prices would drop so suddenly with a change of guard. hmmmm
i get a vague sensation that this is a trolling thread so im just going to at you and leave
dude, my dad owns a dealership.
we wouldn’t have pissed away trillions on a bullshit war and financial institutions and wouldn’t be the laughing stock of the world.
what the fuck do you think we’ve been doing for the past century?
So checks & balances would have gone out the window if Al Gore was President?
obviously since liberals are composed of everything bad and anti american. Republicans and Corporations are always right and patriotic.
yes, the bicameral legislature played a hand in bush sending out checks to automakers…considering the congressional decision on denying them with bush quickly sending out the money. lol
"Mr. Bush made his announcement a week after Senate Republicans blocked an automaker bailout that had been negotiated by the White House and Congressional Democrats."

sounds like you should be pissed at bush, instead of gore
he subverted the congress

Maybe when they can get the production cost down from the current estimated $1 million / car.
link? never heard that before.
have you seen any around Cali?
Honda is leasing them at $600/mo, cali only
yeah I heard 600 a month with Honda covering for everything. Since these are not production vehicles I know they are expensive.
A lot of numbers are thrown around….. per Consumer Reports, the car costs HALF a million / car to produce.
The car itself is impressive, but, in our opinion, costs too much. Currently, each car is estimated to cost about half a million dollars. And without subsidies, hydrogen costs more than twice as much as gasoline today.
Plus, just obtaining the hydrogen is a problem. It either comes from natural gas or from electricity, a process that consumes more energy than the hydrogen provides.
As good as the FCX Clarity is, it will still be many years before hydrogen is a mainstream fuel. Consider the FCX Clarity a car of tomorrow.

well half a million and million are 2 widely different numbers.
oh and post a legit link, not some fucking ip address bullshit.
and they are only stating the obvious, new tech is always expensive.
That’s why the Telsa is like 150 grand.
I cant wait to get me a Clarity and get rims, a 2" drop and a sound system. Im gonna be racing that thing all over town, unless i crash and take out an entire city block with the hydrogen fuel cell
not heading into, we are in a recession.

sorry, there are a lot of links on Google, but I like Consumer Reports, but the link is down and that is the cached link. Just google Honda Clarity million dollars. You’ll find what you need.
I’m not convinced that hydrogen fuel cell cars are the future. It is certainly intriguing, but it will be MANY years off. The costs for infrastructure for fueling stations will be astronomical. I think cash strapped domestic automakers are better off letting Honda spend the dollars for R&D and then copying that technology down the line. Meanwhile they should produce some transitional technology cars like the Chevy Volt.

well we certainly can’t be sitting on our ass. Bravo honda and tesla for trying new shit instead of sitting around ignoring the trend and bitching
