Obama stays on pace in July, raising more than $51 million for the third month this cycle. (His best werwe June and February.) McCain’s best month, last month, brought in $27 million (with the RNC adding more); he’s shifting to public financing for the last two months of the race. McCain’s attacks probably helped, as did big money from new former Clinton donors; but the fact that he can raise this month in the summer doldrums suggests his ceiling will be higher when people start paying attention after Labor Day. The campaign says the more than $51 million raised includes contributions from more than 65,000 new donors. |

As wealthy Obama backers start writing big checks to the DNC, the committee and its joint fundraising committees raised $27.7 last month, and has slightly more than that on hand. The DNC says it’s the first time since October, 2004 it’s outraised the RNC. The committee cash boosts the respective candidates, though it’s no equivalent in value to the hard money raised by the candidates, and not all can or will be spent on the general election. |
Didn’t McCain’s campaign announce it had its biggest haul last month with 27 million?
Shit, that’s a lot of money in a month… but at the same time it’s a shame that you really can’t be the president unless you have millions to spend
Its fucking disgusting is what it is.

Obama didn’t begin life in a rich family or marry into it later. If he can do it, anyone can.
