Its supply and demand. If a government forces a below market price, there will be shortages. Unless of course the government is paying market prices and selling at a loss to its citizens.

Chicago is the most expensive. It’s still in the upper 2.50s on average here. Last month when I was in San Diego/LA gas was $3.79 while it was $4.25 in Chicago.
$2.40 I just came back from Columbus. Filled up there for $1.96. I have half a tank which should last me a month or so (school-paid public transportation ftw)
1.89 is the lowest ive seen here. i still have to pump 2.19 in my 240 tho

Last Jan corn was $275 a ton, today I think it is $160……….
Woot Woot cost me $3.99 a gal yesterday, down from $4.50—what a deal!!! And we produce and refine our own oil, have the lowest oil taxes and were paying the most!!
