Does anyone know an easy way to get a parsable list of McCain’s congress voting records, and Obama’s, including his state senate votes?
I’m having a discussion with a friend who claims "Obama doesn’t stand for anything" because he’s missed so many votes. I’m trying to get some statistics to throw his way.
Can’t answer your question directly, but I know he had around 4000 votes in state legislature.
Both Obama and McCain have had piss poor performance since they became presidential candidates. Obama’s performance has been slightly better than McCains since they began running.
Before running for President, Obama’s Senate voting record was not very good (voting present over 100 times).

Present is an equivalent to a "no" vote. So I’m not sure how that is not very good.
Well… it doesn’t show where you stand on the issue and whether you support the bill or not. It is the easy way out.
