on one hand I grew up in a high school where we had the highest teen pregnancy rate in the state and it was spread evenly over all the socioeconomic classes (the trailer park girl and the mid level exec at the Limited’s daughters were in lamase (?) class together) so it doesn’t really bother me

But the fact that her teenage daughter got pregnant is not an indicator of bad parenting or an indictment against her ideology of waiting until marriage. It’s only an indicator that her teenage daughter is a teenager.

Palin’s response to the situation is the appropriate one. She’s helping her daughter under tough circumstances and is not trying to hide her condition.

Companies are increasing the cost sharing required of their employees for the simple reason health care costs are going up. Managed health care and private insurance hasn’t done much to solve anyone’s woes. Pre-existing conditions fuck a lot of people over. In my state up to 25% of the population is uninsured and 20% of children go uninsured. There’s no reason people who need care should go without.
