so we’re under $120/bbl for crude

August 20, 2008

Shit, I’m only paying 12 cents less than I was when it was at 140

Does the price of bread change every time grain prices move?

No, only when gas prices increasze.

It does when gas goes up again.

when it’s been dropping drasically over a 3 week period, yes.

Gas and Oil are two different commodities, with different supply and demand levels….. Two very linked commodities yes, but not pegged….
to Bush!!11

zomg the heavy reserves are gone from the previous winter and now we have mad surplus of light what we gonna do
it’s awesome how nothing has changed and yet we’re $20 lower than before
I like it when the government doesn’t get involved with shit.

High Supply + Low Demand = Lower Cost
it takes weeks to really see the effects if things remain constant.

Today has been a good day

dumping 50% of cash reserves into the hardest hit financials two weeks ago =

it won’t be until it is back under $2.00

More like

If you had paid $3.69 for regular a year ago, you would have shit your pants.

we’re up 13% since the oil started crashing

Oil should be $75/barrel and gas should be $2.50/gallon.

not going to happen, we will be lucky if oil sits at $100…if we can get under $3 a gallon i would be

it won’t be until it is back under $2.00

oil is only the tip of the iceberg. the commodities selloff across the board ftw. natural gas has taken a cliff dive.

i love how i got nothing but hate on OT two weeks ago buying a shitton of LEH shares, now its almost doubled

you never miss an opportunity to toot your own horn do you

honk honk
My oil pair trade still did well woot woot

My alternative energy hedges did not.
Even if the oil prices go down, the oil related companies will still have crazy profits this year. I don’t get the huge sell off on Wall St. Can someone enlighten me?
i was in oklahoma over the weekend and i paid 3.37 for gas
barring a full blown crisis with prime lending in the coming months, more iran shennanigans and/or katrina II … we should be fine from here on out

no shit right!?
but, but, but the media told me is was going to hit $200 soon.
all because McCain said "drill drill drill"

those fucking god damn speculators

Alt-A defaults coming soon to a theater near you
i’m naked shorting oil futures to drive the price lower
Fuckin oil fucks and their fuckin prices fuck them and their fuckin daughters who are whores that snort coke of nigger dick

That’s when I’ll be happy. 1999 gas prices FTW.
In for gas prices going down far enough for the dipshits in this country to start buying H2’s again while carrying 30K in credit card debt then having oil spike back up again and they get fucked even harder this time around
It’ll only get better if Pelosi and Reid stop fucking around.

some people never learn

Who cares if oil companies make money? It stands to reason that the more they sell, the more they’ll make. So if they’re selling more and more, they’ll keep making record profits, and the government will keep collecting record tax revenues.

And the government then proceeds to use our tax dollars to bail out credit card lenders and borrowers with exotic terms to save the rest of the economy.

one day last week the dow was ~+2.07% and oil -2.09%
silliness
i lost $200 today in the stock market because of this

oil is only the tip of the iceberg. the commodities selloff across the board ftw. natural gas has taken a cliff dive.

i love how i got nothing but hate on OT two weeks ago buying a shitton of LEH shares, now its almost doubled

hmmmmm

AMERICA! FUCK YEA!

you threw money into oil?
or you just had a long position and gave back some profit?
Didn’t China park a whole shit ton of cars and trucks?

almost $3million.
and shut down a bunch of production in the Beijing area

almost $3million.
and shut down a bunch of production in the Beijing area

That couldn’t have anything to do with this.

pretty much every oil and commodity analyst cites this as part of the cause.
slow down on US demand
speculators are exiting the market in fear that legislation on speculation will turn into a witch hunt…

and a normal correction.
crazy how we decided to allow off shore drilling and the price dropped $2x

You aren’t that dense are you?

crazy how that has little to do with it for the time being

john mccain flip flops are always worth a good amount in market corrections

you threw money into oil?
or you just had a long position and gave back some profit?

i bought into the PBR hype. got in at 54 … got tired of the stock / entire sector taking a beating and sold it all. i am new to the stock market and am finding that the short term fluctuations associated with volatile stocks (such as oil related companies) does not match my investment personality. i get wayyyy too stressed out / worried on a daily basis if my stock is not doing well.

anyways this recent flux is cutting also into my AGU profits … i shoulda sold it all last week after that sudden 1 day rise of crude but i got greedy and decided to hold it until tmrw’s earnings are rls’d.

hopefully i won’t get fucked… im gonna stay the fuck away from this sector for a while
It was a good day for me.

Rydex 2x S&P index fund is going to ball for my tuition payments.

investing in that kinda stuff without having staying power is kinda silly

i think it was a good day for everyone minus commodity folks

i can create any causation or correlation i want, much like every other fucktard

Carry on.

ya … going in i thought i had the balls to deal with the ups and downs but my blood pressure has said otherwise.

I’m looking into dividend stocks now … lower return but more stable in the long run.

i’m also tempted to jump on to activision / blizzard … only because i know the domination that SC2 + Diablo 3 will bring

I’m a big fan of the T. Rowe Price global stock fund.

I love Rydex funds too though

Morningstar
Bloomberg
Lipper

Even the Saudi’s said it shouldn’t be over 80 dollars a barrel considering demand.
Its the fucking speculators that have been driving it up.

honestly man…
great info here

awesome funds with a proven track record

Even the Saudi’s said it shouldn’t be over 80 dollars a barrel considering demand.

there are some who feel this way
others that dont.

maybe one day we will know who is right
probably not

it cracks me up that McCain blames Obama for the price of oil.
as if the war in Iraq has had no impact on oil
unprecedented delusion is needed to support the GOP in these times

well, to be fair, they’ve almost doubled from their bottom my position is up a little over half

funny how hardly anyone in the financial media talks about this little development

i would have purchased LEH.
i still might after they decide what they are gonna do

This is going to financially ruin some speculators. I don’t feel at all bad.

an interesting point i heard on cnbc in the area as well…

financing branches of auto companies and auto loan issuers for leases on cars and trucks that have had depressed resale value due to gas prices. the leases were structured based on modeled and expected residual value at the end of the lease term, however the returned assets will be worth significantly less than what was expected…

nope. they are already out.
who it will ruin are retirement funds, day traders, and other individual/non-institution investors.

same thing with the tech bubble. Institutions had a record amount of money OUT of the market….the individual had a record amount IN

Good.
time to buy a dodge ram this weekend, right? or too late

all because McCain said "drill drill drill"

those fucking god damn speculators

More like because the US oil reserves were double what they were expected to be in June. and worldwide.

It pisses me off that McCain is taking credit for the American peoples efforts in cutting back on oil consumption.

Yes, the fucking asshole stated that since he started pushing offshore drilling, prices plummeted! The idiotic American public is buying it too.

holy fuck.
these idiots truly deserve him as a president.

nope. they are already out.

Oh. Well shit.

Good thing I got my F-250!

i want one

i want one

This will help reduce the demand for yellow grease.
This shit happened last time we got close to elections also. Don’t know what it is.

I want a turbo car again.
shit won’t last, just waiting for one hurricane to spin up in the right spot or for Americans to pull out the H3s from the garage and then the speculators will have a field day again.
gas goes under $2/gallon im going to visit every state in the US at the end of the summer over a 12 week period

srsly

been wanting to do it
Down 20% since Bush removed the executive ban on drilling.

If Congress passes a drilling bill it will drop even further.

stronger dollar…poor economic data, demand deterioration….
