HEAVEN FORBID THE PRESIDENT TO ACTUALLY THINK A PROCESS THROUGH FOR ONCE
werd
Don’t give me that bullshit. That was supposedly the reason he kept Gates onboard, SO HE DIDN’T HAVE TO DELAY ANYTHING.
how much did you complain about this war the last 6 years? are you really going to bitch about it 3 weeks into a new presidency?
A lot actually.
get back to me a year or two
Ban bet right now. If Obama pulls the troops out of Iraq and brings them HOME (not to Afghanistan), I’ll be banned for a year.
i thought he had this all ready to go. you would think he would have thought about this before he opened up his mouth
THIS IS SHOCKING, DID NOT SEE THIS COMING AT ALL OR PREDICT IT OVER A YEAR AGO
YOU AIN’T MY BITCH, NGA
Nah he’ll just divert 30,000 troops from Iraq to Afghanistan, when he gets around to it, and start a new unprovoked war with Pakistan.
And if we’re lucky, he’ll cave in to Israel and start one with Iran as well.
ok so he pulls out and shit happens you bitch, he doesnt pull out you still bitch

If he pulls out, I’ll applaud him. But I know better.
Actually it says the decision is being delayed, not that there has been a delay.

Who cares? I’m extremely liberal, but we don’t know the security threats etc. That is all classified information. May as well let the boys who know what the fuck they’re talking about work it out.

seriously, i bet nobody even read it
but yeah, now that obama is president, he has access to a lot more information that wasnt available before. he is just saying ‘ok lets wait until we factor everything in, then find the best way to go about getting the troops out’

Will be above 2 dollars a gallon across the country next week. Gotta fuck over the country some more, and put them in enough despair to make them beg for the Stimulus package to bail out Geithner’s buddies.

did you vote?
yes
The only difference between Obama and Bush is that Bush actually made money because he knew how things work.
|
Hope and change. You awake yet sheep? |
The man is president for less than 3 weeks, and already the conservatives are complaining. We can’t know ANYTHING about what Obama is about until at least 6 months. We gave Bush the same, so let the man try and do his job without you critiquing it. You’re actually arguing that considering the stability of an entire region is a bad thing?
This is quite possibly the stupidest statement ever uttered on OT. We are in more debt under Bush than ever before in this country. There is no way you can possibly argue that Bush made money.
again you’re automatically a evil conservative if you question Obama. this is why i hate democrats so much more then republicans
For himself.
You must have missed all the threads about how Obama was going to draw down troops immediately upon taking office.
My fault, I was about to say though…
for who?
I am a moderate democrat. I’m conservative on some issues, liberal on others. Anyone actually thinking that Obama would begin to remove troops "immediately" without first talking to major leaders in the area along with high ranking brass is either delusional, or is seeing too much into the man. Sadly, I fear it’s a combination of both. We need to get out of Iraq definitely, but we need to do it such that we don’t end up leaving a gaping hole in the area. It’s kind of like a table with 3 legs right now. We can’t just rip out the last leg otherwise it’ll fall. However, if we take our time and slowly remove it, it’ll stay balanced on its own until someone can fix it aka Iraq gets its government together.
Ron Paul
i know what you’re gonna say i wasted my vote
as well as the youtube video i posted on pg 2 of those words coming out of Obama’s mouth

Proving me right. 3 weeks in and although NOTHING has even changed, people are saying he’s a failure. You’re (general term) even arguing that BECAUSE nothing has changed in 3 weeks that he’s a failure.

The Obama Presidency: from Hope and Change, to Gloom and Doom. Yes We Can –> Catastrophe |
that’s a lil too soon
Im talking about the way he is talking about everything. Since he has been in, he has been more grim when he is talking about the state of everything. His biggest enemy right now is the media constantly hyping (yes even though its bad) the state of the economy and himself for not trying to be more upbeat to the public, giving hope. Instead he is using fear to drive his policy out of the gate saying its going to be a "Catastrophe".
we keep electing Republicrats and we keep getting fucked
will we ever learn?

Ron Paul
i know what you’re gonna say i wasted my vote |
No, because I wrote him in too. I just wouldn’t have taken your post seriously if you’d voted for McCain. I don’t think people were fooled into voting for Obama. I think that people have disregarded the Constitution and are voting for the person that will benefit them the most, rather than the person who will do what benefits the country the most.

he said over the course of 16 months, not 3 weeks.
watch the video again
exactly and McCain wasn’t a horrible choice, it was Palin that fucked it up
if he had Paul or even Romney as his VP then i would consider voting for McCain
mccain was a horrible choice
obama was a horrible choice
What I’m tired of is the media making him out to be some godsend, then trying to stifle the opposition. There was no way a republican would have won this election this year, media or not, but now, it’s getting to be too much. They are portraying the conservative republican opinion as negative and an affront to the Obama policy. That’s the entire fucking point of having fucking parties, so that one group’s agenda cannot take precedence every time.
I am not a huge fan of strong conservatives, but I’m even less a fan of strong liberals. Stubbornness and anti-responsibility are both hopeless in my book, but there’s got to be both in order for there to be any stability. What the conservatives are doing with his stimulus package is good in theory. I say in theory because I get the distinct impression that many merely don’t want to pass it because it gives Obama too much power even though it could greatly help the economy. That’s the way things have to be, and it’s exactly why I’m a moderate.
paul couldn’t be VP hell they wouldn’t even let him speak at the convention
yea no shit. that kinda shit drove me away from the republican party
"I will immediately BEGIN to remove…." a brigade at a time, over the course of 16 months. Not "immediately remove." I’m not an Obama apologist, but you have to at least be reasonable.
has he immediately began to remove?

The Republicans brought this on themselves. It was entirely avoidable.
That absolutely pissed me off how they treated him.

Hope and change. You awake yet sheep? |
the US isn’t a premature ejaculator like yourself… se we’re not pulling out until the job is completely done
To those dumbasses who believed Obama…. and I sure hope there wasn’t a lot of you…. feel free to search my old posts as far back as OT has them….
It didn’t take a lot of political knowledge to know that it was BS.
what job is that exactly?
It’s been 3 fucking weeks, man. Don’t you think that there might be some important information that the CIA/military might want to tell the brand new president before making huge tactical decisions? Maybe a few discussions with world leaders? There are probably a ton of things that are kept from candidates until they are sworn in. Regardless, they are drawing up plans, starting with his first week in office.

White House looking at Iraq withdrawal options 2 days ago WASHINGTON (AFP) — The White House is weighing several options for US troop withdrawals from Iraq, with timetables ranging from President Barack Obama’s campaign pledge to remove all combat troops within 16 months to a 23-month option, a defense official said. A 19-month scenario was also presented to the president by military advisers at the White House’s request, the official told AFP on condition of anonymity, confirming an earlier report by US-based McClatchy Newspapers. "We know they would like to do it in 16 months" but "we presented a range of options and the risks associated with it," said a second defense official, who also requested anonymity. The newspaper group said the White House had received assessments of the risks associated with the 16, 19 and 23-month troop withdrawal options. Obama warned in late January that he would have to make "difficult decisions" on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, following his maiden meeting as commander-in-chief at the Pentagon with military brass. During his first week in the White House, he asked top military commanders to draw up plans for a "responsible" military drawdown in Iraq, where there are currently 142,000 US troops. |
whatever ‘jobs’ we can find over there to do so that companies with military contracts get more money and the politicians get their cut
werd on that
as predicted, we are now arguing over the meaning of the word "immediately"
so why did he promise "immediately" when he was seeking office?
did he not realize he needed to consult with all these people? was he prevented from doing so when he was the President-elect?
did he know when he said "immediately" that it would not be possible?
why lie if you don’t have to?

I’d still call that IMMEDIATELY BEGINNING TO do something.
man, republicans are looking for anything to put on obamas table. LOL
He sure did, he new his company was failing, so he sold his shares two weeks before it declared bankruptcy, and got out with all his money, while the other shareholders all lost theirs.
