system. I have always had a deep and severe problem with scammers, liars, and cheaters in everyday life. This is why I have tried to ignore anything to do with politics most of my life although I have still voted based on very little imformation each time. I beleived it was my duty as an american to vote even though I never really knew what I was voting for. This last 18 months I have stepped up to the plate and learned as much as I can due to the fail our country has experienced under the Bush administration. In this time I have never seen more worthlessness, liar’s, cheater’s, and scammer’s that I ever imagined existed running different function’s of our country. I am lost for words to describe how this makes me feel because I am shocked, appauled, and angry all at the same time. I now understand why I stayed in the background, distancing myself from knowing what actually is going on per politics. I have become sick watching our entire political process and especailly over the people running these crucial parts of our goverment.
Sorry for the book and feel free to not correct me on my poor grammar.
Honestly, in a perfect world, a dictatorship is probably the best political system because one man can dictate what to do and you don’t have to go through bureacracy to do it. He says it, it’s done.
That’s assuming you have a good dictator. But that rarely happens. More often than not, it’s someone who is consumed with their own power, which is why dictatorships don’t work.
Our government is corrupt and deceitful and also consumed with it’s own power, but I still think it’s the best system for at LEAST having some checks against full out tyranncy.

You’re effectively arguing that we should be afforded freedom merely because of man’s depravity, as if to say that since men are weak, fallible, non-omniscient, and innately depraved, no man may be entrusted with the responsibility of being a dictator and of ruling everybody else. Therefore, a free society is a proper way of life for us imperfect creatures.
The implications of your argument are thus: Since men are depraved, they are not good enough for a dictatorship. Freedom is all that they deserve. If they were perfect, they would be worthy of a totalitarian state. So it is wrong to enslave the depraved, but it is right to enslave the virtuous.

I feel very fortunate to communicate with some of our O.T. members whom are so intelligent and highly educated. I really have alot of repect for member’s such as you and Viper. I may not agree with you all of the time but it is an honor to share with you gentleman. Even though I am not on the same level intellectually I appreciate you taking the time to share.
Some of what I am implying about my original post is it now appears we have even more corruption in our politics than in the 90’s. It is kinda like the licence obtained before with a set of rules and guidelines has completely disappeared from today’s politics. I don’t think there are any rules followed anymore where honesty and integrity are applied whatsoever. Maybe I am ranting and raving now but at any rate I have to say it needs to change.
Dictator with gun to his head at all times?
sounds like the dictator has been compelled to surrender his kingdom to the will of the gunman.
who holds the gun? the real dictator?

What the shit?
My arguement was that the quickest way to get shit done is through dictatorship. But because dictators have a tendency towards evil, that it’s a shitty form of government. Democracy is the best form of fair government, but it takes forever to get a consensus.
I don’t know how that fits in with all that shit you said, but there.
Nah, part of the deal
"you can run this country as you see fit, but if you fuck up, I pull the trigger"
