In this thread, you will post LOGICAL reasons for voting for _______

Posted by bruni on October 16, 2008

That’s right…list LOGICAL reasons. Not emotional reasons.

I have yet to meet ONE fucking person who can give me a logical reason to vote for Obama or McCain. So please, enlighten me with your logic.

A vote for Obama = emotional
A vote for McCain = emotional
my logical reason for underscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscore underscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscoreunderscore is that there just aren’t enough underscore’s in the world
Obama is educated and knowledgeable about law and the constitution, so he can work on "issues at home" such as the economy, the budget, health care, etc.

Which is more elitist/ridiculous $520 loafers or a $400 haircut?

Posted by bruni on August 31, 2008

I’m going to go ahead and say the loafers probably hold their value a little better (and longer) than a $400 haircut.

but did you see how pretty Edwards looked?

those shoes make McCain look like skeletor
a $400 haircut is more elitist.

GOP remains in Congress despite the Democrats adjournment for vacation

Posted by bruni on August 26, 2008

A bit long but worth reading

Pelosi and the dems won’t let off-shore drilling up for a vote even when 70%+ of Americans are demanding it. Plus, she doesn’t want to force a vote on Obama because she knows it could be political suicide for him. House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking.

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House and turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices.

Obama assassination plot foiled

Posted by bruni on August 10, 2008

MIAMI — A man who authorities said was keeping weapons and military-style gear in his hotel room and car appeared in court today on charges he threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Raymond Hunter Geisel, 22, was arrested by the Secret Service on Saturday in Miami and was ordered held at Miami’s downtown detention center without bail today by a federal magistrate.

Wall Street Journal: Is Obama too skinny to be president?

Too Fit to Be President?

Facing an Overweight Electorate,

Barack Obama Might Find

Low Body Fat a Drawback

By AMY CHOZICK

Speaking to donors at a San Diego fund-raiser last month, Barack Obama reassured the crowd that he wouldn’t give in to Republican tactics to throw his candidacy off track.

“Listen, I’m skinny but I’m tough,” Sen. Obama said.

But in a nation in which 66% of the voting-age population is overweight and 32% is obese, could Sen. Obama’s skinniness be a liability? Despite his visits to waffle houses, ice-cream parlors and greasy-spoon diners around the country, his slim physique just might have some Americans wondering whether he is truly like them.

The candidate has been criticized by opponents for appearing elitist or out of touch with average Americans. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll conducted in July shows Sen. Obama still lags behind Republican John McCain among white men and suburban women who say they can’t relate to his background or perceived values.

“He’s too new … and he needs to put some meat on his bones,” says Diana Koenig, 42, a housewife in Corpus Christi, Texas, who says she voted for Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary.

“I won’t vote for any beanpole guy,” another Clinton supporter wrote last week on a Yahoo politics message board. Continue reading…

The White House is Briefed: Phoenix About to Announce "Potential For Life" on Mars

Posted by bruni on August 08, 2008

Candidates stance on NASA

Obama: Reduce budget spend money on schools
McCain: Increase budget
It would appear that the US President has been briefed by Phoenix scientists about the discovery of something more “provocative” than the discovery of water existing on the Martian surface. This news comes just as the Thermal and Evolved Gas Analyzer (TEGA) confirmed experimental evidence for the existence of water in the Mars regolith on Thursday. Whilst NASA scientists are not claiming that life once existed on the Red Planet’s surface, new data appears to indicate the “potential for life” more conclusively than the TEGA water results. Apparently these new results are being kept under wraps until further, more detailed analysis can be carried out, but we are assured that this announcement will be huge

Obama now favors drilling on the coastline

Posted by bruni on August 05, 2008

Sen. said Saturday he is simply acting pragmatically in softening his opposition to additional oil drilling along the nation’s coastline, a shift Republicans say shows he is calculating and out of touch with voters.

Speaking in Florida, Obama insisted he still generally opposes additional drilling as his Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, once did as well but would be willing to support it as part of a new bipartisan energy proposal that seeks to lessen dependence on foreign oil.

“If we can come up with a genuine bipartisan compromise, in which I have to accept some things that I don’t like, or the Democrats have to accept some things that they don’t like in exchange for actually moving us in the direction of actual energy independence, then that’s something I’m open to,” the Illinois Democrat said.

Oil drilling, a hot topic in Florida, has been a point of dispute between Obama and McCain in recent weeks.

“Sen. Obama says he wants energy independence, but he doesn’t support anything that serves that goal,” McCain said Saturday in his weekly radio address. “He believes every domestic energy source has a problem. I believe every energy source needs to be part of the solution.” Continue reading…
