I don’t care if he was a VP of a division at Goldman Sachs, was there really noone more qualified than him? Looks like typical cronyism of the Bush administration, Paulson picked him because he was his drinking buddy at Goldman.
you’re the one who wants this bullshit bailout so badly, what did you expect was going to happen moron?
A 35 year old is the best we can tap to run the bailout? WTF
Here’s the fabled Sarah Palin/Supreme Court Question Video
I haven’t even watched it yet.
Enjoy.
well, found the gist…
Can’t say that I am overly surprised. Will watch vid later.
Oh, and, from that link:
"Laugh at the that make Palin ridiculous just by quoting her verbatim."
Wow, she is fucking clueless. It’s a sharp contrast with Biden in that video..who is so well informed and has great conviction.
Palin is nothing but a clown.

Subject Politics: Coming clean O.T., I have never beleived in our political
system. I have always had a deep and severe problem with scammers, liars, and cheaters in everyday life. This is why I have tried to ignore anything to do with politics most of my life although I have still voted based on very little imformation each time. I beleived it was my duty as an american to vote even though I never really knew what I was voting for. This last 18 months I have stepped up to the plate and learned as much as I can due to the fail our country has experienced under the Bush administration. In this time I have never seen more worthlessness, liar’s, cheater’s, and scammer’s that I ever imagined existed running different function’s of our country. I am lost for words to describe how this makes me feel because I am shocked, appauled, and angry all at the same time. I now understand why I stayed in the background, distancing myself from knowing what actually is going on per politics. I have become sick watching our entire political process and especailly over the people running these crucial parts of our goverment.

Official U.S. Economy as a Presidential campaign issue thread
While reading threads based upon the political theatre that is the U.S. presidential election on this forum, I keep stumbling upon posts that mention ‘how bad’ the economy is, and this thread is meant to educate ME and perhaps others on the subject of what our trillion dollar debt actually means, and what can the candidates do to fix it.
Stop beating around the bush in other threads, I want to know the situation, and both sides’ solutions.
Well right off the bat we all know that trickle down economics does not work.

As much as I dislike McCain, Obama is just going to turn us into a welfare state to w
hich there is no return. Future generations are going to get lazier and lazier. More and more will live off the government and expect them to be the answer to everything. You will have more poor popping out babies creating more idiots. Society will become less responsible for themselves. Barak has said that college is a right for all Americans. Do you really want a college degree to mean nothing? To lower standards and go into more unnecessary debt with little to no return? There are going to be more and more living off the productivity of a few and that few will become less and less. Fuck Obama and fuck McCain.

Georgia was tricked, but by Russia or US?
Ian Bell on the new cold war
LET’S RUN through this again. Vladimir Putin is not a nice man. The KGB, with whom the young Vlad earned his reputation as a people person, was not Russia’s answer to the Rotary Club. As a direct consequence, Russian traditions of democracy remain wafer thin, a cracked veneer that fails utterly to conceal thuggery, rigged votes, oligarchic mafias, corruption, and the corpses of journalists. Are we clear?

Bush: I don’t see America having problems.
Obviously he doesn’t understand how to use a mirror.
do you really consider China and the United States morally equivalents?
Not at all, but this thread isn’t about comparing us with China. It’s about the Neighborhood of Makebelieve that our current Decider lives in.

Obama supporters are praying Colin Powell will endorse their candidate
CNN reported today that Colin Powell has denied that he will endorse Obama and says that he won’t go to thier convention. The reporter at Fox News, who broke the story, is continuing to say Powell will continue to ostensibly support Obama.
It seems to me that certain Obama supporters are begging for Powell’s endorsement.
he’s a well respected military general, who wouldn’t want his opinion?

Okay either this guy Hersh is insane, or the cheney regime is v. Want war with Iran
EXCLUSIVE: To Provoke War, Cheney Considered Proposal To Dress Up Navy Seals As Iranians And Shoot At Them»
Speaking at the Campus Progress journalism conference earlier this month, Seymour Hersh — a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist for The New Yorker — revealed that Bush administration officials held a meeting recently in the Vice President’s office to discuss ways to provoke a war with Iran.
In Hersh’s most recent article, he reports that this meeting occurred in the wake of the overblown incident in the Strait of Hormuz, when a U.S. carrier almost shot at a few small Iranian speedboats. The “meeting took place in the Vice-President’s office. ‘The subject was how to create a casus belli between Tehran and Washington,’” according to one of Hersh’s sources.
