10 - politician with encyclopedic knowledge of issues current and historic
09 - politician very proficient with current and historic issues
08 - politician equally good with current and historic issues
07 - politician with good knowledge of current issues..not so good with historic

Currently, my television is repeatedly sending me the message that "we must act quickly" on the bailout package to avoid "dire consequences."
If it is true that we have come to a "point of no return" where swift action is required immediately, why didn’t these very smart people who are now FULLY AWARE of the crisis facing America notice it sooner and make the general public aware of the impending crisis?
Logic would indicate to me that this plan is being rushed through as quickly as possible in order to avoid Congress making changes to the plan. Continue reading…

The general public has become more Democratic since 2006, and this is reflected in the audiences for leading TV news outlets. The audiences for CNN and MSNBC, which were heavily Democratic two years ago, have become even more so: fully 51% of CNN’s regular viewers are Democrats while only 18% are Republicans. MSNBC’s audience makeup is similar - 45% of regular viewers of MSNBC are Democrats, 18% are Republicans.
The regular audience for nightly network news also is now about two-to-one Democratic (45% vs. 22% Republican). In 2006, 40% of the regular viewers of nightly network news were Democrats compared with 28% who were Republicans. Continue reading…
