Obama Opens the Door to Offshore Drilling
By Jonathan Weisman
ORLANDO, Fla. — Sen. Barack Obama suggested he could accept an expansion of offshore oil drilling today if it is in a broader package of energy measures that would free the logjam on energy bills in Congress.
"My interest is in making sure we’ve got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Obama said in an interview with The Palm Beach Post. Continue reading…

That is, did he ever actually say it was really a bad thing? Everything I ever heard from him simply said it was a distraction and wouldn’t help our problems with foreign oil and gas prices. (Which he still says).
I might be wrong though, it’s not an issue I’ve followed closely.

Obama is pressed on the issue repeatedly on the campaign trail, but he refuses to budge, preferring to take pains to spell out his reasons. Continue reading…

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows the race for the White House is tied with Barack Obama and John McCain each attracting 44% of the vote. However, when “leaners” are included, it’s McCain 47% and Obama 46%.
McCain is currently viewed favorably by 55% of the nation’s voters, Obama by 51%. That is the lowest rating for Obama since he wrapped up the nomination. Obama is viewed favorably by 83% of Democrats, 22% of Republicans, and 47% of unaffiliated voters. For McCain, the numbers are 87% favorable among Republicans, 26% among Democrats, and 61% among unaffiliated voters.

Hey I pointed that website out first
Nobody on here is going to read it though. It’s far easier to cling to old views and pandering McCain attack ads than it is to read an 8 page large-type PDF. There is a lot of hope for change in that document. I’ve only about 1/2 done.. but it’s the same old song and dance. pdf viewer is fucked up somehow but i’ll just assume this sucks like i would even if i could open pdfs
I admit John McCain’s policy guidelines on energy appear to be more specific with numbers and timelines etc. but it means very little when they aren’t guarantees. Continue reading…

what sort of brain dead 1984 corporate bullshit is this?
is this really what the founding fathers had in mind when they spoke of a free press? how do you think I got through college?
$0.01 per post Maybe someone can teach McCain to logon to his own website. Thats it he has this thing in the bag, everyone loves spammers The sad thing isn’t that John McCain is publishing ads denigrating his opponent for being too well-spoken and popular in addition to undermining his "straight talk" image by relating Obama to Paris Hilton and saying Obama’s energy policy is recommending pressure gauges (even though experts have corroborated Obama’s suggestions). There is now one question in American politics: With the Republican Party in such bad shape — measured by polls, voter registration and general enthusiasm — why isn’t Barack Obama in better shape? (Most national polls show him slightly ahead.) Continue reading…
