Very interesting interview and LOL at McCain
US election: Questioning the candidates
Barack Obama accepted Nature’s invitation to answer 18 science-related questions in writing; John McCain’s campaign declined. Obama’s answers to many of the questions are printed here; answers to additional questions (on topics including biosecurity, the nuclear weapons laboratories and US participation in international projects) can be found at Wherever possible, Nature has noted what McCain has said at other times on these topics.

McCain - Known for being a straight-talker Maverick that speaks his mind while enjoying a buddy-buddy relationship with the press, he’s endlessly lied about Obama, changed his supposedly principled positions to fit the political mainstream, and cut himself off from the national press in an attempt to better control his image.
Obama - Supposedly a "different kind of politician" campaigning mostly on his personal excellence and outsider/change status, he’s compromised and otherwise made traditional political moves, even when they’re bad policies.

Oil is like the road system we have, that may have some potholes and ruts, but with some capital investment, we can improve them and they will serve our needs for now and the future.
"Renewable Energy" is like Lyle Lanley selling the monorail system to the people of springfield. a lot of money invested in unknown technology that may or may not work or may or may not be better than what we already have/could have invested in.
I find when people make analogies in an argument it’s because they want to obscure the facts.
