Asked whether the debate could go forward if McCain doesn’t show, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs replied, "My sense is there’s going to be a stage, a moderator, an audience and at least one presidential candidate."

Does anyone know an easy way to get a parsable list of McCain’s congress voting records, and Obama’s, including his state senate votes? I’m having a discussion with a friend who claims "Obama doesn’t stand for anything" because he’s missed so many votes. I’m trying to get some statistics to throw his way. I AM SO PISSED OFF AT MCCAIN lc

She’s pro-life. She’s fiscally conservative. She’s fairly libertarian on most issues.
Obviously, there isn’t much known about her in detail, but I think she’s the best pick McCain could have done. Jesus Christ. Putin is such a god damned fucking bad ass gangster mother fucker.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was feted by Russian media on Sunday for saving a television crew from an attack by a Siberian tiger in the wilds of the Far East. Putin, taking a break from lambasting the West over Georgia, apparently saved the crew while on a trip to a national park to see how researchers monitor the tigers in the wild. Just as Putin was arriving with a group of wildlife specialists to see a trapped Amur tiger, it escaped and ran towards a nearby camera crew, the country’s main television station said. Putin quickly shot the beast and sedated it with a tranquilizer gun. It’s over Obama fans

Ok, well not exactly: "An by Gallup Poll Managing Editor Jeff Jones shows that recent presidential campaigns have enjoyed a small (though short-lived) bounce from the running mate announcement. This includes a four percentage point bounce for John Kerry in 2004 after selecting John Edwards, a 5-point bounce for Al Gore in 2000 with his announcement of Joe Lieberman, and a 3-point bounce for George W. Bush in 2000 upon choosing Dick Cheney. Bob Dole received an extraordinary 9-point bounce in 1996 after bringing Jack Kemp onto his ticket." But america wants ‘Change’
